What happens to our urban built environment and the vitality of urban street life when all of us are huddling over our screens, ordering most of our goods and services on the internet in order to save a nickel? Call me a Philistine or worse, but I will miss elegant “shopping” streets like Madison Avenue and Soho (and many others, high end to low) in New York, Geary in San Francisco, Abbott Kinney in LA (Venice), the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and many more all over our country and the world . . .
